RELATED EXPERIENCE

CIVIL ENGINEER IN TRAINING

  • Civil engineering design for residential and commercial projects in the Park City area.
  • Production of civil drawings from setup to completion (AutoCAD Civil 3D).
  • Existing conditions – utilized in-house surveying field data to produce existing conditions maps, site topography and demolition plans.
  • Grading plans – site grading, finished floor elevations, retaining walls, driveway design, sidewalk and stair design, retention basins, cut/fill estimates.
  • Utility plans – sewer, water, storm drain and dry utility design, standard details, custom details.
  • SWPPP – erosion mitigation, limits of disturbance, construction facilities.
  • Storm water – utilized rational method, retention design.
  • Land surveying – construction staking, ALTA survey, boundary survey, existing conditions, subdivision plats, plat amendments, condominium plats.
  • Tasked with incorporating Civil 3D into the company from Land Desktop. Created and continually modified a drawing template. Experience using feature lines, alignments, plan and profiles, grading tool, assemblies, corridors, etc.
  • Park City Municipal Corporation Projects: Park City Main St Sidewalk Phase 4, Woodside Park Condominiums, The Yard Parking Lot, Hillside Soft Surface Trail
  • Other Projects: Empire Residences at Empire Pass, Viridian Townhomes at Canyons Village, Lilac Hill Condominiums, National Ability Center at Park City Mountain, Utah Olympic Park zipline construction staking, Victory Ranch roadway/utility staking.
  • 30+ projects completed.

STRUCTURAL ENGINEER IN TRAINING

  • Structural engineering design for residential projects – new construction, renovations and additions.
  • Production of structural drawings from setup to completion (AutoCAD).
  • Autonomous responsibility of individual projects.
  • Contact with client, drafting setup, engineering design, revisions from principal engineer, production of hard copies of drawings and calculations for submittal to city.
  • Lateral design – determination of wind and seismic loads, shear walls, hold down design.
  • Truss layout – placement of girder trusses and efficient truss layout for roof design.
  • Gravity design – beams, columns, floor system, bearing walls, footings, structural details.
  • Gained valuable experience and understanding of best practices in residential structural engineering.
  • Exposure to IBC, IRC, ASCE7, AWC.
  • 50+ projects completed.

ENGINEERING INTERN

  • Assisted engineering department with projects to maintain and expand natural gas pipeline.
  • Familiarization of compressors stations and their function along pipeline.
  • Utilized survey books from original build to supplement evidence for legal battle due to landslide near pipeline.
  • Investigation of water intrusion in compressor station.
