Pavement Design and Materials Engineer. Work with civil engineers and materials laboratory personnel in pavement design, materials evaluation and construction management. Draft and present technical findings and consultation for clients including state and local government and consultant personnel. Generate research reports on innovative strategies for pavement materials with statistical and mathematical calculations in sampling, testing materials, and analyzing relevant data. Local travel to construction plants for inspection and documentation required. Duties will also require some night-time and weekend work, and overnight travel in Utah for up to two weeks at a time approximately three times a year.  Review publications and articles to implement current principles, practices, and new developments in pavement materials. Will manage multiple tasks, work under tight deadlines, and accept frequent priority changes.

 

Reqs: MS in Civil Engineering or related field; proficient in following tools: AASHTO PavementME; Finite Element Analysis; and Computer Aided Drafting (CAD).  Must also be proficient in use of Non-Destructive Pavement Testing equipment; Cold In-Place recycling; Hot In-Place recycling, and treated base applications; and have proven ability to present work and answer technical questions.
